Sizing Guide

Equafleece measuring is unique! We don’t just measure straight down the back, so please don’t use non-Equafleece garments as a size guide.

As shown in the video opposite and the diagram below, we use five measurements:

A Length – from the centre of the breastbone along the side of the dog to the base of the tail.
B Neck – around the neck where the collar goes.
C Chest/Girth – around the deepest part of the rib cage.
D Waist – around the narrowest part of the body in front of the back legs.
E Backbone – from the base of the neck along the backbone to the base of the tail. It should be less than the A measurement.

How to measure your dog

Please ensure you measure snug to the dog’s body, and that your dog is standing up straight, looking forward and not arching its back. A soft tape measure is best. For long-haired dogs you may find it easier to use a piece of string to take the measurement, then read it off on a tape measure or ruler.

I’ve taken my measurements – what now?

Use the size calculator on each garment’s page. Simply click the What Size Do I Need? button, put your measurements into the calculator, choose the shape that looks most like your dog and click the Calculate button.

If the size calculator doesn’t match any sizes, don’t panic! Please re-take your measurements, ensuring your dog is standing up straight, looking forward and not arching its back. The E measurement should be less than the A measurement.

If your new measurements still don’t match any sizes, please send us your dog’s measurements, shape, breed and age, or call us and we’ll advise what size you need.

We’re happy to exchange or refund any garment returned to us as new, so do try it on a clean dog and see the dog moving to assess the fit.

It’s very rare that we can’t fit a dog in a standard size, but if necessary we can make to order (at extra cost) in the spring and summer.

You may also find the additional video below useful as it has a commentary that explains each step of the measuring process.
